What Sterling Heights does to a car.
Sterling Heights is laid out on the mile road grid, from 14 Mile Road at the south edge to Hall Road (M-59) at the north, with Mound and Van Dyke running north and south and Utica Road cutting across on the diagonal. It is a city of subdivisions, street trees and auto plants, with the Clinton River crossing its northeast side. Each of those shows up on a vehicle in a specific way.
Salt on the main roads, then your street
County plows and salt trucks start on the state and primary roads, and Van Dyke and Hall Road are both state routes. The city works its own streets the same way: major roads, then neighborhoods. The residue dries white on rocker panels and floor mats and keeps working on the finish until it is washed out, not just rinsed.
Street trees and overnight sprinklers
The city has been a Tree City USA for decades, and its stated goal is a street tree in front of every home. In summer it also asks homeowners to water lawns between 11pm and 5am. Park under the tree and the paint collects sap. Park in reach of the sprinklers and the water dries into spots by morning.
Parks and the Clinton River
Dodge Park has sports fields, a splash pad in summer and an ice rink in winter, and the Clinton River has public kayak and canoe launches at Rotary Park and North Clinton River Park. What rides home is grass, mud and wet gear. Getting it back out of the carpet takes steam and hot water extraction, which is interior detail work.

Interior, exterior and full details can all be done in your driveway. Ceramic coating, window tint and paint correction need the shop, where we control light, dust and cure time. If you cannot spare the trip, valet pickup collects the vehicle and brings it back.

No. Coatings and window film need a controlled space: steady temperature, no dust and no wind. That work is done at the shop. If getting there is the problem, ask about valet pickup. On ceramic coating jobs, Uber is also covered for the drop-off and pickup.
