It is done at our shop. You do not have to drive it there.
Coating goes on indoors at our Clinton Township shop, where light, temperature and cure time are ours to control. That is about 17 miles from central Birmingham. The simple way over is Woodward south to 14 Mile Road, then east on 14 Mile until you reach us on the north side, just past Kelly Road.
We keep the vehicle for at least a full day, longer if the paint needs more correction first, so nobody waits around. Drive it over and we cover your Uber home and your Uber back. Can you ceramic coat my car at my home in Birmingham?
No. A coating has to be applied out of the wind, dust and sun, then cure before the vehicle goes back outside. A driveway cannot give us that and neither can a parking structure, so it is done at the shop. Valet pickup covers the trip if you would rather not make it, and if you do drive over, Uber is covered for the drop-off and the pickup.
I live on one of the unimproved streets. Will a coating help?
Yes, within limits. Those streets are gravel under a thin seal, and the city says the seal cannot fix standing water. If yours holds water after rain or a thaw, the lower panels pick it up as road film. A coated panel lets go of that film with a rinse and a gentle hand wash. What a coating will not do is stop a stone chip or a scratch. It is a hard chemical barrier, not armor, and we would rather you hear that from us before you buy one.
How long will you have my vehicle?
At least a full day, and longer when the paint needs more correction first. The decontamination, the polishing and the cure are what take the hours. The exact window comes with your quote, which lets you line up the Uber or the valet pickup in Birmingham ahead of time.
